Ruth Duggan
Hello! My name is Ruth.
I am a textile designer working with dyeing, weaving, knit, print and embroidery. I have a love for colour, nature and tactility which has brought me through many years working and training within textile and surface design.
I am hugely inspired by tactility found in nature and use this a lot to make many different forms of art, visual design and sculptural-like surfaces. I enjoy exploring many different fabrics, materials, papers, threads and yarns.
I think working with your hands is incredibly satisfying and brings enormous joy. Textiles are all around us and can be anything and everything.
My strong love for colors, nature and tactility has led me through many years of work and training with textile and surface design. I have worked and studied in the UK and Denmark. I completed my masters in Textile Design fra Det Kongelige Akademi – Arkitektur, Design, Konservering Copenhagen in 2018.
Wild ideas, inspiring conversations and the outdoor life gives me energy in my work. I am very much looking forward to meeting you and your life stories at Løgumkloster High School. I am part of the school because of the unique open community that has been created here. I enjoy being with people who are also curious and creative and want to learn more about life and themselves.
Since I was born and raised in England, my Danish can sometimes fail me. Should that happen, I would love your help.
